At Learning Linkz, we strive to provide students with opportunities for academic success. And this extends well beyond the walls of our office, as we have recently joined forces with Atlanta-based Direct Hits—a boutique education company that focuses on student learning from middle school through college—on a high school science education program called Project ENGAGES.
Project ENGAGES (Engaging New Generations at Georgia Tech through Engineering and Science) is a program developed at Georgia Tech in partnership with four minority-serving public schools in the city of Atlanta: Coretta Scott King Women's Leadership Academy, B.E.S.T. Academy, KIPP Atlanta Collegiate and Benjamin E. Mays High School. The goal of the program is to raise the awareness of students to the world of engineering, science and technology through real-world, hands-on research projects led by top-notch Georgia Tech scientists, as well as introduce them to career path possibilities in engineering and the sciences.
Direct Hits, which has been working with Project ENGAGES since 2014, and Learning Linkz are partnering to help improve the students' performance on requisite standardized tests, such as the SAT and the ACT, and work with them to improve college readiness on the academic front.
